I think all of the Ottawa ones are the same - it's just that there is one television station and like 5 radio stations all holding the same contest for the same performance. We'll just have to figure out which ones will actually air anything from it.

I wish they were doing one of these things in Hamilton/St. Catharines. It'd be my only chance at doing such a thing.

Contests around WNY/Toronto have been nearly nonexistent. Tickets sell well, the band probably has a lot of family and friends to spend time with. So no need for extra promotion or extra activities to fill in the time until the show.
(The exception being the private show in Buffalo April 2006 - where you could not even get through on the phone while needing to be caller 98/102/10. I am kinda glad for no contests after that because I can preserve my (moderate) sanity.)

Makes sense. Oh well, I have school anyway. Listening to some Steven Page right now.

I'm grateful Em retweeted that z103 thing yesterday, but it gave me a heartattack having to switch so fast between stations.

I'll make a list up tonight or tomorrow and we'll figure it out. I wasn't around to see how fast you had to switch, but it appears both shows happened at the same place so that was the reason they could move from one to the other so quickly. I think the Ottawa ones will all be broadcasting from the same place (IF they broadcast)

Tnx. Yes we didn't know anything about the Z103 broadcast, but Em found a tweet the minute the Live 105 broadcast had ended, so I opened the Z103 website as fast as I could and hit the record button, which was just in time because seconds later they began broadcasting. I was there was some kind of tool that can recognise patters in music files. So I can just search for Slide and Iris and Notbroken and it tells me if and when it was played.

I actually got a call yesterday to tell me that I won't the BOB FM one!! (I mean, they are all the same thing - but I won through BOB FM) I thought it was CTV (I missed the girls beginning lines on the phone and was too excited to confirm), but I was just on their website, and my name is not listed. So I looked up the # and sure enough, it's bob FM! Along my googlings, I managed to find this form again (I haven't been on in a while!) Super stoked!!

John didn't make it due to not feeling well, but it was fantastic regardless!
Robby was really runny, Brad played some of Slide on John's guitar (teaching us about his tuning, but I don't really understand how that really taught anything about the tuning) and Robby was FANTASTIC with the jokes! Lots of laughs.
And then there was a signing, they had a picture all set for them to sign... and Robby recognized me, which has had me on cloud 9 ever since! This is turning out to be a fantastic day.
Oh, and they gave everyone there tickets to the concert tonight, so I'm spreadin' the Goo by giving the old ones I already bought away ;D

Cool! ;D Glad you still had a great time, even without John there. If it was Robby being ill, John and Brad would have done some songs solo for sure, but without John that's like impossible.
