John's really great with words, so let's make an official quotes thread here. If you post a quote by any of the band members, please give a source if possible.
What do you do when someone asks you to commit artistic suicide? Tell them to f#*k off and go on tour!!! - Johnrzeznik1 on Twitter, April 3th, 2010

*looks up her old Goo quotes files* I've got way too many John quotes so I'll just take a few (because if I posted all of the quotes I have, you'd be reading for hours) to keep the 'fuck' things going... "There are two things you gotta learn how to say in life, thank you and fuck you." — John Rzeznik "You gotta love what you do and believe in what you do, and if somebody doesn`t agree, fuck them" — John Rzeznik "I'm not perfect, I don't give a fuck. You're not perfect, and I STILL don't give a fuck." — John Rzeznik

"Listening to mixes of the new album. It amazes me how much time I can waste listening to a tambourine. As if it will change the world."
"The stupid pills are being eaten right and left"
"Really? All three of you? I've never disappointed three women at once before." - Talking to the crowd
"I have a mouth like a dirty fricking sailor."
"People mask their feelings of inadequacy with arrogance - and I'm not about to do that."
"He held my head when I threw up in the toilet. He took me to the hospital to have my stomach pumped. He loaned me twenty bucks last night. He listens to all my lies and ignores me when I'm full of shit. And that's a big difference, if you know what I mean." - introducing Robby
"People ask us all the time, 'how long has the band been together?' I also say, 'musically, or romantically?'"

I love the one where John's talking about Robby! "It's better to have a pocket full of regrets than to have never lived" - John Rzeznik "I don't think I've weeped so much since, like, Born Free. It's bad, man." - Robby Takac on seeing City of Angels"I really really really hope my cat remembers me when I get home. Nothing would be worse than my cat looking at me going, 'Who's this guy?'" - Robby Takac

Oh, the "He held my head..." quote from John about Robby. I use that one over & over, including about 10 days ago on IM. It just gets me every time.
And this one from Robby,"The way (John) writes, the way he feels about this band... He kills himself, man. I've never seen anyone put so much emotion into anything. When he's writing a song, veins are popping out of his head. It's really painful."
Those two sure can write a Good Bromance.
This one (also from heavenlyintoxication.com) makes me crazed. I cannot bear it. I just wanna go back in time and tell Robby it's gonna be OK.
"I think one of the psychological low points was when we'd just put out 'A Boy Named Goo', and we thought, 'Okay, we're gonna go out there and show the world'. So we went down to Georgia, pulled into this club and they'd forgotten we were playing. There were eight paying customers - and one guy wanted his money back because we didn't play long enough. I just remember lying in the bus, crushed."
I wish I could be there to hear the Indy fans' reaction when Goo first take the stage. It's gonna be HUGE!!!!

I love the first quote and I remember another one about how Robby was so excited to be on the Rolling Stone cover but then was crushed when he found out that they only wanted Johnny...Something about hiding in a dark corner for a while, I'll try to find the exact quote...

I could sift through quotes for hours on end, but I'm just gonna share this one for now because it amuses me:
"There are a lot of reasons to be hated in pop culture, and being a straight white male is one of them. In fact, I almost hate me!" -- John.

Haha thanks, I love it too! ;D It cracked me up the first time I read it! I love yours too! "I'm an artist man, I can't shit on command." — John RzeznikAnd here is the cheese quote that came to mind when we were having our cheese (and fish) discussion: "I hate cheese! You know why I hate cheese? Because it's glue in the colon. A man can't make love when he's got a sticky colon." — John after being asked what his favorite type of cheese is
