10 radio adds this week on Hot AC and its official adds date isn't until next week. Good start, I think. Should probably enter in the Hot AC chart soon.

I'm going to be the black sheep here, didn't like it much... i don't know, i guess its not heavy enough for me. you know? they used to be (or seemed like) Rock & Roll for me. but now, all they seem to do is ballads.

It's a bloody soundtrack song. You have to take in consideration that they were probably asked to do the love theme. You can't just write whatever and hand it in, hoping it'll still fit. Same goes for pre-existing songs they stick in there. It has to relate in some way to the movie itself.
I mean, if you don't like it point blank, that doesn't change anything but they probably couldn't help the balladeering for this because it was probably what they were asked to do.

its just an opinion...
also, what about Something for the rest of us? John had written ballads for most of that. so don't give me that "bloody soundtrack song"stuff.

I was talking about this. Not Something For the Rest of Us.
The bloody soundtrack comment remains because what they did for the last album doesn't negate my comment about this. They were probably asked to do a ballad love theme and at the mercy of the film's people in general. I mean, what if they were asked to do a song in the same vein as Lazy Eye? It wouldn't change the fact that they were still at the mercy of the film's people, now would it?
That was the point I was trying to make.

I don't like it very much either. I don't hate it with the intensity of a thousand suns, I'm just kind of 'meh'. It has nothing to do with the heaviness of it, I've just found that it really grates on me if I put it on repeat more than twice. It also has a jittery sound that reminds me of CLIG and we should all know how I feel about CLIG. I do love the 'And you taught me forgiveness by giving your love back to me' line though.

Interesting. I really like the line "And know, that you are everything." just because of his inflections on the 'everything.' There's something about that that I like. Admittedly, I kinda burnt this song out fast from overplaying. I hope hearing live will make me go OMGAWD again.

..I mean, what if they were asked to do a song in the same vein as Lazy Eye... In that case we got another "dark themed" song, like Soldier. Sorry if I just messed with all of your fangirl heads.. ;D (you'll get over it)

Is it my OMG FAVORITE SNDTRK SONG EVARRRR?!!!1?! Nope. But, I totally dig it. Don't love it, at least not sonically, but I'm in absolute heart with the lyrics. Yeah, Rzeznik's in thematic heaven here, but that doesn't make it any less of a good, solid song, at least not to me. What I squealed about the first time through... - I loooooove when songs start in medias res!
- Oooh, his delivery of some words, so shaky, but perfectly/purposely so... <3
- (and someone else noted this) wow.... I've got ISH vibes, and I love ISH!
- It's a love song!!!! I love love...
What back-handed me and sent me flying off my ass the second time through...- Ohhhhmygodthelyricsinthesecondverse..... *swoon*
- There's some serious swell and bombast to this song... sonically, it starts out pretty meh, but there's a definite pay off... I dig.
- I hear strings!!! Strings, y'all, strings.
I mean, this song encouraged me to come back to y'all, so it ain't so awful? ;-)

It was a delicate combination of love for them, love for you and everyone else I've come to know through all this, and OMG IT'S SUMMER TIME, YAY! So, yes, you were the reason I came back.
Now, no more hi-jacking... back to ATYA.
