I don't think it matters much. It's not like they can only put 11 songs on the cd and they have to cut one in order to include Real there. I think they just have a bunch of songs they all agree on putting on the new cd, and on top of that they might add Real. Maybe they call it a bonus track, maybe it's just track 3 of 5 of 8 on the cd. I personally don't really care, as long as they don't cut any of the new songs because of Real. I think Real didn't get the airplay and attention it deserved, but I don't think putting it on this cd will help much making the song popular to the public, it's too late for that. But then again it wasn't a real (lol!) single, but just a special song for a special event/cd.

Um, it did go to the charts and tanked. I don't know what your definition of a single is, but it got it's chance and blew it. And if them changing it up for live shows right after releasing it is any indication, I don't think they were completely happy with it either. It was basically a by-product of them being too eager and too hasty with trying their new studio.
In short, if it does happen to go on Something, whether it's a bonus track or not, my guess is that they'll probably tweak it to reflect the changes to it derived from how they play it live, if not more to fit with the vibe of what we've seen so far.

Glad my cynical views aren't completely useless. I was starting to wonder since my watered-down cyncism on IM was not stomached well. Heh.

The IM is a strange place sometimes...
As for Real, yeah, it had it's chance, and it's time to just leave it in the past me thinks...

You know what... I need to go re-listen to Real... I haven't touched that song in a long time... So, just hold on (before it's too...)
..... .....
...fuck me. ........Real's... sort of grown on me...? Like.... I've always dug the piano (it makes me think of Slaughterhouse...) and I love the "ohhhh, we were soo lost" part, and the verses... It's just the chorus that's always let me down.... But... Maybe letting it be for awhile and coming back to it... Has helped.
Now, I'm not saying I want it on the new album (I'd still be fine with it off...), but if it showed up on, say, a later compilation.... I don't think I'd skip it anymore...
Rock on, Real... Good job.

Well, there are bits of Real that I like, but some parts just don't mesh well. And there's the SWY-ness to it. Live version is way better (and coming from someone like me, that's saying a lot).

I've always really liked the intro to Real, but it goes downhill from there in my opinion...

Yeah, I think that's why we were so excited last year because the teaser was only a minute into the song. I agree with you there.

They're good at teasing, aren't they?

Yes. They are indeed proving how good they are at that right now. Fuckin' teases.
