I don't know why this forum is so dead... hasn't anyone here been to a show yet? Anyway, here's a short review of last night: The band played from about 9:25-11:05pm, which means it was almost a full 2 hour show. They sounded perfect from start to finish and their performance was BY FAR the most energetic and tight of the three I've seen. John played Sympathy perfectly and didn't mess up a single word! Robby was his normal crazy self, but John was surprisingly lively as well. He said a few times how much he enjoyed the crowd and kept mentioning that "tonight it's about us, together... forget all the screwed up stuff outside the doors to this place." He was smiling a lot, playing to the crowd, moving from side to side, directly talking to people in the front rows and the upper balconies by the stage in both private and on the mic. Did some chit-chat about the last time they were at the Norva and that he may have been drunk and offended some people, and if so, he apologizes. Nice, long, fun show with my only real complaint being that they cut out "One Night." I mean, really, I have other complaints about the setlist, like the lack of "Naked" and "LWD," but realistically I knew those weren't being played this tour, so pulling "One Night" was the only actual disappointment. But overall a great performance and awesome crowd. Best live show I've ever been to.

Thanks for the review cubed!! I'll be going to the Louisville show on the 7th. Can't wait!! Hope they put One Night back on the list by then. That's one of my new favorite ones. I'm so hoping they change it up some and not be so predictable. They need to keep us guessing what each shows setlist will be.

Thanks! Great review. Have you seen 3 shows so far? or 3 of this tour? Good question; to clarify I meant three shows total, not just from this tour. This was my first show from this current tour.

Good review. And yes, not too many of us have had a concert. Or at least a recent one to write about. I promise that I'll write a long and detailed affair if they get their asses anywhere close to me.

Thanks for the review...I loved that he commented about maybe being drunk last time and apologized for it...Did you happen to catch them the last time they played The Norva?
I loved that they played Sympathy, as it is one of my favourite Goo songs and like you guys, I'm disappointed that they took One Night off of the setlist so early on in the game...They should give it more of a chance, especially since people have not heard it on the radio or really anywhere else except for a few spins on youtube...One night and Now I Hear are my fave new songs so far, so if I go see them, I'd love to hear those songs

I wasn't at the last Norva show but by the process of elimination I can safely say it was likely during the GF-era... probably sometime between 2002-2004. This is because they likely didn't play there until it was renovated and restored, which was done from '98-2000, and then I moved to this area in 2005 and I know this was the first time they've played at the Norva since then. So, I'm willing to bet it was during the GF days. The only other possibility was that they were there in the early days, before DUTG, but I'm going to say no to that just because I don't think John would remember anything about a show that long ago... especially if he was drunk. Oh, which reminds me, one more thing about this concert: There were two chicks in their 40s have a drunken confrontation and one kept feeling me up (grabbing my chest and arms for a few moments on two different occasions) as they moved back and forth through the crowd bitching at eachother. Technically I should feel violated, but she was pretty nice looking, so... oh well. I'd say it was just by accident, but she also kept giving me drunken smiles. Ah, concerts are interesting to say the least.

Thanks for the review - I had to laugh at you being the target of drunken affections - aren't concert crowds great sometimes?

I try to lighten up, though, since Conan O'Brien said he hates cynicism in today's youth on his farewell show.

Oh and here's something else many of you may like to know: John and Robby were very buddy-buddy on stage, which was cool to see. They were talking to eachother in private (as in, not on the mic) and cracking up together. It was nice to see them acting like old friends instead of just bandmates.
