Big brother is always watching and doing what they want to do. Got a huge rant about that but I won't go on with that.

Terrorism is the magic word of the last 10 years. With that, every bridge will open, every counter argument fades, and every privacy is taken away without questions asked. Copyright infringement and childporn close the top 3 btw. We've had a legal case a few days ago from the Dutch anti piracy bureau against two major internet service providers. They wanted the ISPs to close access to the Piratebay, but the judge said they didn't proof that a majority of the ISPs users was actually uploading copyrighted material, and it would be disproportional to block access for all users. The same happened in Belgium a week ago. However in Ireland and Denmark anti-piracy agencies had more success and got judges to order ISPs to block access to those sites. It's a difficult subject though. Can you block an entire website because a part of it is doing something illegal? And are hosting/bandwidth providers responsible for what users do on their servers/network? Seems a bit weird if you compare it to roads. Is the company that builds and maintains roads and traffic signs and such responsible for people using it to trade drugs for example? I'm glad that at least in my country sites can not just be taken down without a court order. Although they're trying to install a child porn filter and it's the Police who's going to come up with a list of websites-to-be-blocked, without a judge seeing the list first, ala Australia. So how long until they also block terrorism websites with it? and after that bittorrent websites, and perhaps a few governments critical blogs?
