Just back from this show and am too buzzed to sleep but too tired to say anything intelligent. Might add some thoughts tomorrow. Show was sold out at about 7,000 people. The crowd was amazing and so was the band. Set list-ish: Last Hot Night Slide Big Machine Here Is Gone Still Your Song Lucky Star January Friend Cuz You're Gone/1000 Words Black Balloon (deep breath all you Hello Kitty balloons) All That You Are Home All I Hear Tucked Away Name As I Am Better Days Stay With You Iris Broadway Not Broken (encore) I'm real clear on the beginning and end -- may have missed something and definitely the order of play in the middle. I reeeeally wanted to hear Fallin' Down and Postcards from Paradise (am I the only one who likes that song?) but I won't whinge about it much because this show was first rate. No one left unhappy.

SFTROU WAS ON THE SET LISTmea culpa mea culpa nicole It appears last night Fallin' Down was traded out for Big Machine. Normally I wouldn't bitch about having to hear Big Machine but I had my heart set on Fallin' Down. Once they got to Lucky Star I did the math and figured it was not happening. However, the crowd was up and into it the moment the band hit the stage and those first four songs (including the tune we'll now ironically refer to as BM) were fucking electric. I could get behind a little stalking of the friendly variety to get Fallin Down back on the list. There seems to be an immutable law of nature that the ggd set list will not exceed 21 songs. Seriously people, the world will not implode if one night passes without hearing the melodic strands of As I Am. The universe is a better place with Fallin Down in it sung live every night this summer. Live. Every night. Couple other thoughts: All That You Are was very well received. People (the ones who don't know the lyrics to January Friend) seemed to know it. Cuz You're Gone = amazing. Parachute is wonderful. All energy, kick ass and really talented. They are from this part of the US and have a big following. Sang What I Know so that made me . They seem like the ggd pre-ABNG, all there but not quite polished. Won't kill you to look at them either.

Hm. I wonder if they're starting to do what they said and trade in songs for the shows. Some have had Notbroken and I can't seem to remember if they just switched something for it and kept it that way or if they keep on switching it up.
Either way, I daresay they better have Fallin' Down back at Darien. No excuse for not pulling out old stuff at the hometown show!
To my knowledge, you can have more than 21 songs, but it has to be early on during any given tour before they get out the set list scissors.

Also, politely asked if for them not to cut Fallin' Down at Darien via Twitter. I'm sure it'll be ignored but, at least I tried! (Don't have the balls to actually stalk them. ;D)

Haha. I knew ronnie and you didn't really mean actually stalking but a few (okay, more than a few) repeated good natured attempts to bring them to their fucking senses can't look too crazy. I mean there's the power of social media and then there is, well, names will not be named. I never post at IM but dropped the hint there. PUT IT BACK.

Haha no not really stalking.. but asking them something in a tweet is alright I guess. I hope it comes back, for you guys.. I don't even know when my next show will be, so I'll worry about the set list in time.

SFTROU WAS ON THE SET LISTmea culpa mea culpa nicole I'm happy there were not two major deaths in one night. I cannot even talk about Fallin' Down being gone. Things don't COME BACK to the setlist. Some people like to cry because they've been waiting less than a year to see a certain song performed live and I have waited 13 years for this one.. to have it disappear 2 stops before my show.

Hm. I wonder. I think we know people who have M&Gs in Darien. Wonder if they could give a polite request to have it back at the show. At the Wolf Trap show, they were supposed to play Let Love In as the encore and not Notbroken but did so at the request of someone who had a M&G. Granted the request was more emotional in nature but...maybe the last ditch effort'll help?

Operation Fallin' Down. Our mission is to get: Back on the: Nicole, Erica, please make a cool sign saying something like you've waited 13 years to hear FD live and they'll get cookies if they'll play it. And bring cookies ofc. ;D

Yeah no. Once it I knew it wasn't played in Pittsburgh there's no point in trying. I'm not whoring myself out for a stupid sign.
