Please can you post your thoughts and feeling on our new President and what you'd like to see him accomplish? I do believe he will do a great job improving our relations world wide.

I think it's great that he won! And I think he should take all the troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Everybody here in The Netherlands wanted him to win actually, a boy in my class has 2 t-shirts of him

I'm hoping we pull out too but we do so in a way that does not make things worse over there.

Yeah, I've seen a couple of Obama t-shirts on people here in Canada. I don't have any things in particular that I'd like Obama to acheive, I'd just say that I'd like him to fix up whatever disasters that Bush left in general as best as he can.
Oh, and when I got home (well, the people who I live with during my co-op away from home), the tv was covering something on Obama's inauguration (sp?) - regular people seemed to be being interviewed on their thoughts- and the husband was switching channels because he said he was a bit tired of it, to which I said, 'Oh, are you a little tired of the people going into rhapsodies about Obama?', he said yes which was understandable because everyone was doing it. After I said, 'oh well, at least Bush is gone,' and he said, 'well, we liked Bush' and my jaw fucking dropped (metaphorically). But whatever, they're conservative and religious and I'm not so I'll let it slide.

It's hard to imagine anyone likes Bush at this point, he has this country so messed up it is not funny. We need to re-elect Obama in 4 years because he needs that much time to fix things.

I'm not trying to say anything bad about Obama but let's just see how he handles these tough four years before we go re-electing him.

I feel nothing but empathy for Obama... Well, happiness, too, of course, but... What comes with that is a feeling of, "Oh, man, Mr. President... You really have your work cut out for you. ..Shit." And, honestly, I think he'll do this country a lot of good (or, I really, really hope he will), but... I just don't want to place ALL my money on him, you know? He's promised, either directly or not, that a lot of things will change, and they very well might, but.... In the end? It may be true that he can't do all he claims. Regardless, I'll give him my support, my respect, and my hope.

That is exactly why he or anyone else needs more than 4 years to fix things.

That's a good way to put it googal. Yet on the other hand, and I'm not saying this is going to happen but is just a possibilty, maybe he's not the best president for right now. I'm not saying McCain would have been either, I'm just saying I'm interested to see where he takes us. He did promise a lot and it is a short time period to accomplish that but its not like we can just absolve him of everything of that. He has to make some real positive headway before I support re-electing him. He very well may do that and I have high hopes that he will do so. He has my respect and compassion and I hope he will be great for this country, but I'm keeping a close eye on all that happens from here on out.

I think you and everyone else. He does have a tall order to fill. I have high hopes for him. At least he inspires positive thinking, something that we need desperately right now.

Definitely. It really feels like the whole country's taken a breath of fresh air... It's a nice feeling.
