Okay... This isn't precisely gossip... It's more of a wondering/speculating thread, and there's nothing really concrete to it, so that's why it's here.
So, as semi-documented over in the Twitter thread, Takac posted a link to IMS' main page, and GCR Audio's page, which is a mirror-site (essentially) of IMS' page... And, on GCR Audio's page.... It refers to the studio as FORMERLY being IMS.
Okay. That's the springboard for this thread.
So.... Has IMS changed its name? I don't think so....
I think that there's just... maybe... a partnership thing going on...? I mean, it IS Takac's label... And a number of his peeps have used IMS, so....
Plus, maybe it's just a sign of what's to come for Goo.... They're getting Takac's label more involved so that if/when they turn independent themselves..*trails off*
I don't know. What do y'all think? Speculate away!

Yeah, I guess it is something like a partnership..... I hope they will let us know what is going on!

I heart Takac to death, but that'd suck if it's an actual name-change.

Hmmm a partnership could be really likely. I would also hate for it to be a name-change. I've come to think of GCR as a "Robby project", but the IMS is supposed to be their project together, so it might be a little weird, for me at least.

Alright, here we go....
Robby: Well, I got it in the settlement, so I'm changing the name. John But, we named it together. Robby: Yeah, well, we're not together anymore are we? You can have it on every other weekend for whatever piece of B-List young artist you're "mentoring". John: I was just as involved in this as you were. We conceived it together! Robby: But, I was a little more involved, now, wasn't I? You just came over one night and deposited this brilliant idea, and next think I know, MIA is getting pushed aside so I can attend studio meetings! John: Oh, do not drag that thing you adopted with her into this!
*eyeroll* gooey humor, of the lowest brow, at its finest....

And, to clear this all up (sort of)... Taken from the new GCRAudio Twitter site, as linked to from GCR's twitter... " heyhey ... Inner Machine Studios in Buffalo NY has now opened to the public as GCR audio ... check out our website at www.gcraudio.com ...about 1 hour ago from web " So... There we go.

I don't quite understand what "going public" means, but, okay! Yeah, I was wondering about that too...Does that mean that everyone can buy stocks in the company or are they given out tours or something?

That's what I'm wondering, because when I hear "going public", I think of stocks... So... I'm... Really confused.

Hm. I'm not sure. Maybe he just means it's available for artists to book some recording time.
