I love this band, and this is just sad news. Such a shame. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/8228053.stmWell, they've gotten into lots of fights and semi break-ups before, but this announcement seems final. Apparently, you can only take too much crap from others, and being someone's brother doesn't make you any less unbearable. And, because stuff about other bands always makes me randomly think about Goo somehow, I'm just glad that John and Robby aren't brothers (lol) or, that they have awesome chemistry, or else they'd end up like this, breaking up right before playing a gig... *shakes head, doesn't even want to imagine* So, ahem. *proudly waves Rzezkac fan flag* ;D

*really sad TA*
...Oh, well, just further proof that, sometimes: bromance > brotherhood, at least in the musical group department.

Yeah, I saw that yesterday too. No offence, but...they were always catfighting in some kind of way or stiring up shit. Perhaps it'll be better this way. I mean, like he said, you can only take so much abuse.

Yeah, even Noel himself feels relieved to have quit the band, though, through all those difficult years, they were still able to come up with some of the best music. Oh, well.

Who knows STW, maybe he'll go solo and produce some Oasis-like music.

Almost a year after, it seems you're kinda right, HiG.
For those who wanna know (taken from Wiki):
Noel Gallagher announced his first solo gigs on 1 February 2010, to be at the London’s Royal Albert Hall on 25 March & 26, as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust shows, which run from 20 March to 30, and include performances by Depeche Mode, Them Crooked Vultures, Suede, Arctic Monkeys, The Who, and other artists.
On 19 November 2009, Liam announced that he would be recording new material with Gem Archer, Andy Bell (now on guitar), Chris Sharrock and an as-yet unnamed new bassist around Christmas time, with a possible album release in July 2010. Gallagher also stated that live keyboardist Jay Darlington would also be joining the group. On May 25, 2010, a photo of the band was released on oasisinet.com in the studio with Steve Lillywhite working on their new album. The new band's name was also revealed to be Beady Eye.
So that's the name of Liam's new group now. Wooh. I'm sure they wouldn't go so quietly and just disappear like that. And the drama between the brothers continues:
He [Liam] also compared his album to Noel's record saying "Noel's record will be good and ours will be better."
At his second gig, Noel poked fun at Liam about his Pretty Green Clothing line.
....okay, so maybe it's better that Robby remains "the brother John never had". T_T
